Summer’s Last Stand Tour — West Palm Beach, FL

Lamb of God is out on the road along with Bullet For My Valentine and Motionless In White opening for Slipknot on the Summer’s Last Stand Tour.

The heavy metal band from Virginia delivered a hard-hitting show that made a clear statement: metal is not dead! Randy Blythe has a voracious appetite for overselling his position as frontman and never takes a moment to catch his breath. From guttural growls to single leaps above the drum set, he and his bandmates gave every fan one hell of a concert. Lamb of God played tracks from VII: Sturm Und Drang, the band’s new album.

Bullet For My Valentine had the sophomore spot of the concert, but definitely performed like upperclassmen. The rockers from Wales were musically tight and the production value of their concert was exceptional. Matthew Tuck’s vocals were crisp, clean and easily projected across the venue. Michael Paget made his guitar scream and hair fly as he hammered the frets with killer riffs. Michael Thomas was a blur behind his drum kit and Jamie Mathias worked over the bass on the low end.

Motionless In White excited the crowd with amped up doses of gothic rock. The guys from Scranton, Pennsylvania were the first on stage but left a lasting impression. Their performance set the tone for what was to be a wild night of musical mayhem.
